'Basic Instinct 2'
(Sharon Stone, David Morrissey, Charlotte Rampling, David Thewlis, et al / R / 84 mins / MGM)
Overview: British psychiatrist Andrew Glass (David Morrissey), assigned by Scotland Yard to evaluate wicked, sexy novelist Catherine Tramell (Sharon Stone), becomes involved with her instead.
Verdict:Mmore a remake than a sequel, 'Basic Instinct 2' is a disaster of the highest - or perhaps lowest - order! Stone's character has gone from darkly, mysteriously sexy to being that drunk lady in the bar who can't stop talking dirty to you, and you think maybe she has Tourettes! Every other sentence out of her mouth is, like, "Let's f--k!" or "I know you want to f--k!" or "I'm hot, and you know you want me, so when do we f--k?!" Trust me, you quickly get highly embarrassed for her!
'Basic Instinct 2' is a colossal failure, dreary, and yet deliciously awful, it contains a smug, leery script that needs Viagra and a walker just to make it seem half plausible!
