'Cursed'
(Christina Ricci, Scott Foley, Omar Epps, Kristina Anapau, Josh Jackson, Jesse Eisenberg / R / 93 mins / New Line)

Overview: After a car accident (or was it an accident?), a young woman and her brother find themselves undergoing strange, werewolf-like changes. Even their dog turns hostile.

Verdict: It's a sad day when even Wes Craven falls victim to the PG-13-ification of horror! 'Cursed' is sadly a generic werewolf film, completely neutered, and completely devoid of anything new ... or exciting! There're also a lot of references in here to vampire lore. Ellie (Ricci) sucks blood off Craig Kilborn's finger in the movie's funniest scene, and Jimmy (Eisenberg) has a relationship to his dog that reminds a lot of the one Corey Haim had to dog Nanook in The Lost Boys'! - in addition to a few shots of a figure of the Max Shreck Nosferatu looming in one inexplicable background!
