'White Noise'
(Michael Keaton, Deborah Unger, Ian McNeice, Chandra West / R / 94 mins / Universal)
Overview: A man (Michael Keaton) is contacted by his murdered wife via EVP, a phenomenon where people hear voices through radio and television broadcasts.
Verdict: Beneath its regrettably banal surface, 'White Noise' raises the creepy question of whether intimidating, even malign forces may be lurking in those fancy gadgets that fill our living rooms and offices. Sometimes haunting, sometimes mawkish, 'White Noise' turns into something the first half doesn't quite prepare you for — the movie takes on a dry, creepy sheen.
