'Christmas With The Kranks'
(Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis, Cheech Marin, Jake Busey, M. Emmet Walsh, Dan Aykroyd / PG / 91 mins / BVHE)

Overview: Curmudgeonly Luther (Tim Allen) and Nora Krank (Jamie Lee Curtis) have had more than enough of Christmas, so they decide to skip the whole deal and go on a Caribbean cruise. But ducking the holiday season isn't as easy as they'd thought.

Verdict: 'Christmas With The Kranks' is a peculiar and at times even sour tale about the tyranny of Christmas! The movie has many problems, chief among them being that it's not very funny, but where it initially sets it's stall out to be that of a feel-good movie, it quickly turns around and brings us character's that are, one and all, just hateful! A patently unfunny guilt-trip flick with a cringeworthy message, 'The Kranks' is tasty at first but soon congeals into little more than a fatty, gelatinous mess!
