'The Grudge'
(Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jason Behr, Bill Pullman / R / 85 mins / Sony Pictures)

Overview: This remake of the Japanese film Ju-On tells of a lethal curse passed from person to person like a virus. The curse originated as a grudge held by someone who died angry.

Verdict: Like a good horror movie, the images, jolts and artistically directed disorientation in 'The Grudge' will keep your stomach clenched. Like a bad one, it doesn't make a lick of sense for the most part either though! Basically, 'The Grudge' consists of virtually nothing but don't-go-in-the-attic suspense scenes strung together with a reasonable degree of brooding mood and a minimum of logic! In the end though this movie should satisfy audiences seeking a few cheap jolts for their dollar this Halloween season.
