'First Daughter'
(Katie Holmes, Marc Blucas, Michael Keaton / PG / 92 mins / 20th Century Fox)
Overview: Samantha Mackenzi (Katie Holmes), the 18-year-old daughter of the president of the United States (Michael Keaton), wants to have a normal college life. When she falls in love with James (Marc Blucas), her dorm's resident advisor, everything seems great, until she realizes that he's an undercover Secret Service agent.
Verdict: 'First Daughter' is a glossy, well-mounted, slickly done but almost stuporously predictable affair that drags on and one for a full 90 minutes or so! A smug and saccharine fairy tale, the movie obviously has the best intentions in the world, ... but what a bore!! A commendable effort, that in truth is mildly enjoyable - at least for a while - but in the end is a bland, formulaic picture where romance and comedy are noticeably absent!
