'50 First Dates'
(Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore, Rob Schneider / PG-13 / 88 mins / Columbia Pictures)
Overview: Romantic comedy '50 First Dates' follows a veterinarian (Adam Sandler) who falls for a woman (Drew Barrymore) suffering from short-term memory loss. Because of her condition, every day their love is new — literally. He must woo her again and again or she will forget that he's the one for her.
Verdict: It's definitely stupid, and yet some say sweet, so there's a 50-50 chance you'll dig Adam Sandler's twisted romantic comedy! That said, for the most part, this is like a Valentine's Day present from Adam Sandler — if he hated us, each and every one!! Sappy Sandler, wholly misguided, relentlessly stupid, repeatedly disappoints in this farce ... and would somebody PLEASE remind Barrymore that she hasn't got an acting bone in her ugly-ass body! And so, yes it looks like an interesting, offbeat romantic movie ... but then again, looks can be deceiving!
