'Win a Date With Tad Hamilton!'
(Kate Bosworth, Topher Grace, Josh Duhamel, Nathan Lane / PG-13 / 90 mins / Dreamworks)

Overview: Rosie (Kate Bosworth) is a West Virginia grocery store clerk who heads to Hollywood when she wins a dream date with Tinseltown's hottest eligible bachelor, Tad Hamilton (Josh Duhamel). But instead of the obligatory date-and-dash she expects, a bizarre love triangle forms between Tad, Rosie, and her best friend (Topher Grace), a fellow clerk who has had a crush on Rosie since grade school.

Verdict: Perhaps the greatest thing about 'Win A Date With Tad Hamilton' is its potential appeal to a wide demographic. For girls who can't get their guys away from the football playoffs in January this is the movie they'll like more than they expected! For art house fanatics sitting through the drought of early-year offerings, this is a mass-appeal flick with brains to boot. Sure, it's got some plotting problems, some predictability problems, and a number of plausibility problems. Don't let them deter you. It won't change the world, it won't even change the genre, but 'Win A Date With Tad Hamilton' will warm up a cold winter's evening ... especially here in Michigan!
