'In This World '
Sundance Film Series - (2002, 88 mins, Color)
Directed by Michael Winterbottom, 'IN THIS WORLD' was produced by Andrew Eaton and Anita Overland for Revolution Films and written by Tony Grisoni. The film won the Golden Bear, the Peace Film Prize and the Prize of the Churches of the Ecumenical Jury at the 2003 Berlin Film Festival. 'IN THIS WORLD' follows the hazardous journey of two Afghan boys as they travel from Pakistan through Iran, Turkey, Italy, France and the UK in search of refuge in London. Based on true stories, Winterbottom, using the immediacy of digital video to full effect, strikes a balance between the narrative and documentary elements of the film. Intended to bring attention to the public debate over the issue of refugees, the film tells a moving and dramatic story that reveals the desperate measures people take to escape persecution and the life threatening conditions they find themselves in along the way.
Exclusive engagement is at the Loews Star Theatre Great Lakes
(4300 Baldwin Rd, Auburn Hills, MI) from September 19th. For more information on this wonderful film series and each film individually, simply click this link:
