'Wrong Turn'
(Jeremy Sisto, Eliza Dushku, Desmond Harrington / R / 84 mins / 20th Century Fox)
Overview: A wrong turn leads a group of young people to the West Virginia wilderness, where they are hunted by cannibalistic mountain men suffering from years of inbreeding.
Verdict: As it 'turns' out, 'Wrong Turn' is relatively gory enough to satisfy jaded horror fans and scary enough to offer a decent, frightening night at the movies for everyone else! Of course, it's no cinematic classic to behold, but then again, these types of film never are! Cast members acquit themselves agreeably, carrying off horror archetypes without much fanfare, and while it's tense, well directed, adequately acted and frequently funny, it also just a bland imitation of earlier, finer creations!
