'Daddy Day Care'
(Eddie Murphy, Jeff Garlin / PG / 93 mins / Revolution Studios)
Overview: After a father (Eddie Murphy) and his co-worker and friend (Jeff Garlin) both lose their jobs, they're forced to take their boys out of prestigious Chapman Academy and become stay-at-home dads. The two free spirits have an idea: start an unconventional day-care center. But when the icy director of Chapman (Anjelica Huston) finds out about the success of 'Daddy Day Care,' she plots to run them out of business.
Verdict: 'Daddy Day Care' is all very sweet and innocent for sure, but even the relentlessly feel-good soundtrack can't pump much energy into a movie that looks as if it's been dosed up with Ritalin! In fact, you probably can't get more high-concept, or less plotted, than this woeful miscalculation of a film! In fact, it's so wrong-headed audiences will be more appalled than amused for the most part! In reflection, and thankfully conclusion, 'Daddy Day Care' feels like a movie cribbed together from outtakes of other hapless Hollywood comedies!!
