Star Trek: Nemesis
(Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, et al / PG-13 / 108 mins / Paramount)

Overview:The Federation is surprised when the previously war-like Romulans make a plea for peace. Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the rest of the USS Enterprise-E crew are dispatched by Starfleet to Romulus to negotiate a truce. But once they get within the borders of their would-be negotiation partners, it is revealed that the offer of peace is not what it seems. Praetor Shinzon (Tom Hardy), a half-Reman cloned from Picard, captures the captain and simultaneously attacks the Earth using a cloaked Warbird.

Verdict: 'Nemesis' may indeed mark the end of a chapter, but as least it tries to go out with a big bang and a flood of sentiment. And sure we've been here before but we ALL like the neighborhood so why not stick around and enjoy the sights ? The inside humor offers more than a few clever laughs also as the confident crew radiates the good time that they're having in each and every ongoing chapter. As always, the Earthbound sequences are cheesy, the attempts at the over-the-top comic relief is hokey and the technojargon is exhausting, but Trekkers will get their fill, whereas other more stuck-up viewers need not apply !
