How Underground Rock Band SAGE4 “Secured” A-Lister for Their New Music Video.

When underground rock band SAGE4 was conceptualizing their new music video, the perfect concept for the song’s title “Everyone’s A Hypocrite” was obvious; to poke fun at celebrity bloggers. With the growing popularity of celebrity blogging sites such as PerezHilton.com, in addition to the large number of celebrities that have had confrontational run-ins with bloggers and paparazzi, the video’s concept is extremely timely.

As lead singer Tracey Sage noted, “We knew that there was one thing that could really help take the video’s concept to a whole new level- a big name celebrity cameo”.

The video centers around fictional blogger “Joey Hollywood” who blogs about all kinds of celebrities, politicians, and even the SAGE4 band members themselves, satirizing everyone from Al Gore to Alex Rodriguez. This created the perfect set-up: the band had to get a major celebrity to play Joey Hollywood, whose identity is revealed at the end of the video.

The band reached out to a variety of celebrities, all of whom either turned them down or had a day rate much higher than the underground band could afford. So, the band decided to get creative and hired a dead-ringer celebrity impersonator, who has provided a huge impact at a fraction of the cost.
