'Graham Parker & the Figgs: Live at the FTC'
(Graham Parker / DVD+CD / NR / 2010 / IMAGE Entertainment)

Overview: Rock legend Graham Parker ignites the stage with mighty backup from The Figgs in this rip-roaring new show celebrating the release of his 20th bestselling album. Join an enthusiastic audience as Parker and company tear through 21 hit songs including “Life Gets Better,” “Mercury Poisoning,” and “My Love’s Strong,” all in spectacular 5.1 audio!

DVD Verdict: Luckily for me, I was at this show, and trust me, this sounds and looks a lot better than the live event! If you are a fan this is a must have. Any music lover would appreciate the quality of GP and the Figgs performance and it would be a good intro to his style and back cataloge.

I'm just waiting for my royalty check as we appear about a half dozen times in between tunes as the camera scans the audience! Seriously, I kid you not here. Anyway, filmed one night in Fairfield, Connecticut in a venue named StageOne, which probably seats about 150, I still have such great memories.

'Graham Parker and the Figgs: Live at the FTC' captures this unforgettable concert in its entirety and also includes a fascinating career-spanning interview with Parker about his life and music – unavailable anywhere else – as well as a bonus CD!

Some of the songs played this wonderful night include: 'Chloroform,' 'Turn It into Hate,' 'England's Latest Clown,' 'Hole in the World,' 'Weather Report,' 'Broken Skin,' 'You Hit the Spot,' 'Black Lincoln Continental,' 'Blue Highways,' 'Bring Me a Heart Again,' 'Beancounter,' 'White Honey,' 'Mercury Poisoning,' '1st Responder,' and 'Soul Shoes.'

Graham Parker is one of rock’s most gifted singer/songwriters and his band is great too. They all have such a wonderful rapport on stage. Together they create a musical event not to be missed! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Feature of a bonus CD!
