'VeggieTales: It's a Meaningful Life'
(DVD / NR / 2010 / Vivendi Entertainment)

Overview: 'VeggieTales®: It’s a Meaningful Life,' is a fun and inspiring story of wonder shares valuable lessons in understanding one’s worth and importance - and in being content with what one already has rather than seeking out what others possess.

DVD Verdict: OK, off the bat, yes, of course, 'VeggieTales: It's a Meaningful Life' is loosely based on the James Stewart classic 'It's a Wonderful Life.' But, this new VeggieTales’ cartoon actually teaches kids a valuable lesson on being, well, happy and content with what they have.

The basic synopsis is that Stewart (Larry the Cucumber) had the biggest football game of his life in front of him, and had a chance to win it all. Injured in one bad play, his hopes of playing in the Salad Bowl – and living a life of fame and fortune – are dashed forever.

Years later, silly-but-sweet Stewart loves his family, friends and job at the toy train factory, but still wonders “what if” things had been different. When he meets a mysterious train conductor who can turn back time, Stewart gets a chance to have the life he always wanted.

So, the question is, will he finally find all he’s been looking for? And what does this mean for those he loves most?

This new VeggieTales episode features an original song from Christian music artist Steven Curtis Chapman, titled "Meant to Be". In addition to Chapman's music video, the DVD's bonus features also include a sing-a-long music video of "Goodnight Junior" (the incredibly adorable and fun song featured in It's a Meaningful Life intermission).

With funny quips and tenderhearted moments, this DVD is a great addition to the VeggieTales collection. It warms the heart and nurtures the soul. What more could a parent want? This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs with the Special Features of:
