'The Warrant' (DVD+Digital)
(Neal McDonough, Steven R. McQueen, Annabeth Gish, et al / DVD + Digital / NR / 2020 / Mill Creek Entertainment)

Overview: Sheriff John Breaker and his son, Cal, reunite after the Civil War to track down a fellow veteran, now a notorious gang leader.

Their mission turns dangerous when they find themselves caught between their former friend's outlaw gang and the vigilantes who are taking the law into their own hands.

DVD Verdict: Featuring a superb B-movie cast that includes Neal McDonough as John Breaker, Steven R. McQueen as Cal Breaker, Casper Van Dien as Virgil St. Denis ("The Saint") and the always beautiful and sexy Annabeth Gish as Bonnie Breaker, 'The Warrant' is a thrilling, action-packed adventure of the highest order.

From the off the action is laid out before you, whether it be Civil War flashbacks or current time hardships and battles, trust me when I say that whenever something explosive or simply menacing is about to occur, the brilliant soundtrack echoes the foreboding nature of it fantastically.

As we are informed, there are two types of men that go to war: Those that fight because it's their duty and then there are those that fight because they're fighters.

This movie is packed with both and boy, do they have at each other in some of the most brilliantly shot, cinematically stunning, B-movie ways here in 'The Warrant.'

With the bad guy named 'The Saint' and having a crew of oddjob mercenaries that follow him and back him at every turn, they've been going on a raiding rampage, bringing death and destruction to everything and everywhere they hit.

And so, as aforementioned, Sheriff John Breaker and his son, Cal, reunite to not only track down this 'Saint' (a fellow veteran, and now a notorious gang leader), but to bring an end to their collective path of destruction.

Once friends who fought hand in hand, side by side in the Civil War, due to the loss of his son to a Rebel sniper, they are now very much enemies as 'The Saint' not only seeks justice for the killing, but has fallen hard within the dark heart of his lost soul.
