'Kenny Rogers - The Gambler's Last Deal'
(Kenny Rogers, et al / DVD + CD / NR / 2019 / Wienerworld Ltd)

Overview: Kenny Rogers' final tour, entitled 'The Gambler's Last Deal,' celebrates the country star's successful career and the scope of his talent from his time with The First Edition to his amazing solo years.

It's a musical journey of Kenny's life, compered by Kenny, complete with all his hits, archive footage, music videos and past concert performances from other Country greats (such as special guest Linda Davis).

DVD Verdict: Grammy Award-winning superstar and Country Music Hall of Fame member Kenny Rogers has enjoyed great success during his storied career of nearly six decades, which was celebrated during this truly magnificent Final World Tour: The Gambler’s Last Deal (out now as a wonderful DVD + CD package).

The enduring country and pop icon has endeared music lovers around the globe with his amazing songs, heartfelt performances, distinctive voice, gift for storytelling and universal appeal.

The first country artist to consistently sell out arenas, Rogers has played to millions of fans around the world, performing songs from his long list of hits which comprise 24 number ones, including 'The Gambler,' 'Lucille,' 'Coward of the County,' 'Lady,' 'Islands in the Stream,' 'She Believes In Me,' 'We’ve Got Tonight,' 'Daytime Friends,' 'Through The Years,' 'You Decorated My Life,' and 'Buy Me A Rose.'

And yes, let's get the elephant in the room shunted quickly to the side, due to all the plastic surgery he has undertaken in recent years he does look "not like himself", it has to be said, sorry.

But, that aside, and with his voice sounding as good as ever, if perhaps a wee bit lighter in its once growl deep tone, Rogers can definitely still hold, and captivate an audience of his fans.

Albeit one chock full of females, that I'll grant you, he converses with (seemingly) each and every one of them, telling them it's now or never when it comes to getting this close to him (and some even take that as a personal invitation to grab one of the thrown tambourines that he launches into the crowd during 'Islands In The Stream', and actually clamber up onto the stage in hopes of snuggling up to their one, and only true musical hero!)

Filmed at the legendary London Palladium in 2017 at the end of his final world tour, and combined with live footage from numerous other venues on the tour, Rogers, who has charted a record within each of the last seven decades and who has sold more than 120 million albums worldwide (making him one of the top-ten, best-selling male solo artists of all time!), still commands the stage.

More than just a concert, 'The Gambler's Last Deal' is a musical journey of Rogers' life, compered, of course, by Rogers himself, and is a complete track by track rundown of all his hits and so much more.

Inclusive of special guest Linda Davis, not only does Rogers sing, but we are also shown archival footage, music videos and past concert performances from Dolly Parton, Alison Krauss and even Dottie West.

This stunning DVD/CD set is packaged in a deluxe digipak and includes a booklet of vintage photos of Kenny and a forward by writer/producer Kelly Junkermann.

A selection of songs from the concert are featured on the bonus CD, making this a wonderful collectors’ item for his devoted fans and will serve as a perfect tribute to the country superstar.

Extras include a music video of 'Buy Me A Rose,' a backstage rehearsal from 2005 of 'Someone, Somewhere Tonight' and additional interviews with members of Rogers' band, cast and crew.
