'Benji's Very Own Christmas Story'
(Ron Moody, Patsy Garrett, Cynthia Smith, Benjean, Sadie Corre, et al / Blu-ray+DVD+Digital / NR / (1978) 2018 / Mill Creek Entertainment)

Overview: While on a publicity tour in Switzerland, Benji, Cindy Smith, and Patsy Garrett convince Kris Kringle that his place on Christmas Eve is delivering presents to all "his" families all over the world.

Blu-ray Verdict: In truth, if you're not a Benji and/or extreme nostalgia fan (both of which I very much am) than steer clear. But if you are, then I implore you to check this out this brand new (albeit a 1978 film) new, and highly entertaining, Blu-ray+DVD, 'Benji's Very Own Christmas Story!' (out now via Mill Creek Entertainment).

That said, and of course, Santa is the star of the show and the story line does a great job of establishing his different appearances all over the world. Indeed, this is actually what I found most interesting.

If it were not for Ron Moody ("Santa") the movie would not be as decent as it turns out to be. He is quite the actor and showman. Other than the fact that they were in Switzerland for Benji to be in a parade, he was pretty much just carried around and had very little interaction in the movie!

Sure, the makeup is extremely cheesy, and in all honesty, Benji gets precious little to do, and the girl from the 'Benji' flicks is a little annoying, but if you have the first two 'Benji' flicks, then this has to take pride of place alongside them. This is an All-New Widescreen HD Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:

* All-New Widescreen HD Restoration!
* Featurettes
* Trailers
* Image Gallery
