'Scorpions - Live in Munich 2012' [Blu-ray]
(Scorpions / Blu ray / NR / 2016 / Eagle Vision)

Overview: 'Live In Munich 2012' captures the final concert on the Scorpions "Sting In The Tale" world tour at the Olympiahalle in Munich on December 17th, 2012.

Blu ray Verdict: As we're all well aware by now, the Scorpions are one of the all-time great live rock bands and so trust me when I say that this concert is no exception. The band produce a high octane performance of 21 (yep, you read that right) massive hits and fan favorites in front of a wildly enthusiastic home turf crowd.

However, for those not quite in the know, the Scorpions are a German rock band formed in 1965 in Hanover by Rudolf Schenker. Since the band's inception, its musical style has ranged from hard rock to heavy metal. The line up from 1978–92 was the most successful incarnation of the group, and included Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf Schenker (rhythm guitar), Matthias Jabs (lead guitar), Francis Buchholz (bass guitar), and Herman Rarebell (drums). The band's only constant member has been Schenker, although Meine has been the lead singer for all of the band's studio albums, and Jabs has been a consistent member since 1979.

Celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2015, on September 30th, 2016, the Scorpions released this aforementioned, and never-before-released, jaw dropping and emotional final concert of the "Sting In The Tale" world tour via Eagle Rock Entertainment.

Track Listing: 1. Sting In The Tail 2. Make It Real 3. Is There Anybody There? 4. The Zoo 5. Coast To Coast 6. Loving You Sunday Morning 7. We'll Burn The Sky 8. The Best Is Yet To Come 9. Send Me An Angel 10. Holiday 11. Raised On Rock 12. Tease Me Please Me 13. Hit Between The Eyes 14. Kottak Attack 15. Blackout 16. Big City Nights 17. Still Loving You 18. Wind Of Change 19. No One Like You 20. Rock You Like A Hurricane 21. When The Smoke Is Going Down.

On a tangential personal note, quite why the front cover features a headless Rudy Schenker is beyond me, but then again I have nothing to do with cover art on these things, sorry! Moving swiftly on and we are presented with superb (even after all this time) renditions of their classic anthems, such as "Wind Of Change", "Rock You Like A Hurricane", "Send Me An Angel", "Still Loving You", "The Zoo", "Big City Nights", "Is There Anybody There?", "No One Like You", "Sting In The Tail", and many more.

All captured in High Definition, this is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs, and with a brilliant mastering job done to it, provides the viewer with an incredibly crisp and clear Blu ray production to behold.
