'Daniel Goes to the Doctor'
(DVD / NR / 2016 / PBS Kids)

Overview: What's a young tiger to do--"ah-choo!"--when he isn't feeling so well? Daniel wants to go to school, but his family knows that rest is best when you're sick. It's good to know that Daniel's family will always be there to take care of each other. Daniel also learns that taking care of your health is important before you get sick.

DVD Verdict: 'Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood' is an animated program for preschoolers ages 2 to 4. It actually builds on the pioneering PBS series, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Through imagination, creativity, and music, Daniel and his friends learn the key social skills necessary for school and for life.

Here on the wonderful 'Daniel Goes to the Doctor' we find ourselves with 8 (well, 9, actually - see Bonus Story information below!) grr-ific tales: 'Daniel Feels Better,' 'Miss Elains Gets Hurt,' 'Daniel Gets a Cold,' 'Mom Tiger is Sick,' 'Daniel's Neighbors Help,' 'Neighborhood Jobs,' 'Daniel Gets a Shot,' and then 'A Stormy Night.' Oh, and yes, there's also a Bonus Story: 'Daniel Visits the Doctor'!

My 2-year old grandson LOVES this show! He is rarely still, but will sit through entire episodes of Daniel Tiger, responding to questions, singing along, and giving me "Ugga- mugga" kisses. He even has a "Tigey" he sleeps with! So, what more could you want?! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
