Overview: Michael Madsen plays a hard-boiled L.A. detective on tracks psychotic rapist on a killing spree. With the help of an ambitious reporter it becomes a race against time in solving this deadly game. Damian Chapa, Gary Stretch, and Lisa Bonnet star in this 1994 thriller.

DVD Verdict: OK, in truth, and telling it like it is (I mean, this is meant to be an open and honest review, after all) 'Final Combination' (which originally was actually titled 'Dead Connection') is rather a mediocre thriller. A tale about an asthmatic detective (Michael Madsen) and a young reporter (Lisa Bonet) trying to get a line on a serial killer (Gary Stretch) who makes obscene phone calls and leaves most of his victims in motel rooms, it plays out in standard, by-the-numbers form.

Inclusive, as you would fully expect from any Madsen movie, brutality and a glimpse of sex (although not enough to be anything more than a mild affair), 'Final Combination' also features early film appearances from such actors as Lisa Sinclair, Jimmy Ortega, John Clayton Schafer and Parker Posey. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
