'Food Forward!'
(2-Disc DVD / NR / 2015 / PBS)

Overview: Food Forward showcases innovators and pioneers food rebels transforming the way we grow and eat our food. We meet farmers, chefs, teachers, scientists, fishermen and ranchers in more than 50 cities across the country who are all providing new solutions to help combat America's growing food challenges.

DVD Verdict: The main question here, throughout, is How has something so basic as food gone so fundamentally wrong? Instead of nourishing us, the way we eat and produce our food threatens the air we breathe, the water we drink and the soil under our feet.

Every episode of 'Food Forward!' incorporates beautiful cinematography, clever animation, cooking segments and original music videos, blending personal storytelling with a unique educational perspective on some of the most pressing issues of the day.

And so, and with regard that initial opening statement, instead of nourishing us, the way we eat and produce our food threatens the air we breathe, the water we drink and the soil under our feet. 'Food Forward!' reveals so much, so many innovative techniques and emulates a return to more traditional - and sustainable - methods of farming, fishing and ranching. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
