'Mike Tyson Mysteries - Season One: Uncensored'
(Norm Macdonald, Rachel Ramras, Jim Rash / DVD / NR / 2015 / Warner Bros.)

Overview: In the animated adult comedy series, starring Mike Tyson himself, the former heavyweight champ is solving mysteries left and right with a little help from the Mike Tyson Mystery Team. This crime fighting team includes the ghost of the Marquess of Queensberry; Mike’s adopted Korean daughter, Yung Hee; and a pigeon who was once a man. The gloves come off as the former heavyweight champ and his team gear up for weekly adventures and put unsolved mysteries down for the count!

DVD Verdict: Yes, yes, yes. Agreed, I have never seen this TV show, or knew much about it before the DVD arrived here for review. But man, ever since watching this quite stunning, brilliantly put together, thought out, fun first season I am well and truly hooked! So, what's the story line here for these 'Mike Tyson Mysteries,' I hear you ask? Well, simply put, Mike Tyson, his adopted daughter, a friendly ghost, and an alcoholic pigeon solve mysteries!!

I couldn't make this sh*t up, but it WORKS, believe me! This show is like no other I have EVER seen before! A hilarious cast, and some sort of parody of Scooby-Doo, I'll give it that, this show has become a hit cartoon straight out of the box. The fact that almost everything in the show has something to do with either boxing or Mike (some of which is cleverly hidden in the show), just makes it all the more interesting.

On the other hand, the show does have a few out of place or just completely random scenes, but it will still get a laugh out of you. There are also a few things that haven't been explained in the show yet; like how a pigeon ended up with a brain of a human? A ghost ending up staying with Mike? Or even how Mike ends up with an Asian child? Well, other than the fact he found her on his door step! As you do!

The humor is lowbrow but hey, it's a cartoon. One of the things this show has going for it is that it doesn't take itself too seriously. I recommend giving this show a try because it may surprise you.

Anyway, all that aside, as why dig deep into silly things like reality checks when you're watching such cartoonish goodness, this show has the potential to march on for quite a few seasons. I recommend it to anyone who loves Mike Tyson or just wants to get a good laugh! Personally, I'll watch it again, and again, and again, and ... well, you get my drift! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the following 10 episodes:

1. The End
2. Ultimate Judgement Day
3. Heavyweight Champion of the Moon
4. Is Magic Real?
5. Mite Tyson
6. A River Runs Through It into a Heart of Darkness
7. Kidnapped!
8. House Haunters
9. Night Moves
10. Ty-Stunned
