Overview: `The Cowboy Rides Away` is an all-star musical blowout featuring appearances by Vince Gill, Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Martina McBride, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, Ray Benson, and introducing George Bubba Strait, Jr. George Strait delivered a 40-song set rich with hits from across his career.

DVD Verdict: Firstly, I've never really been a big country and western fan, in truth; sorry. Regardless, I can understand why people are, so I have enjoyed a few songs along the way, for sure. But Strait, well, the American singer, songwriter, actor, and music producer known as the "King of Country", and one of the most influential and popular recording artists of all time, has always been on my radar, that's for sure.

Regarded, perhaps more than just for simplistic country music twangin', for his neotraditionalist country style, cowboy look, and being one of the first and main country artists to bring country music back to its roots and away from the pop country era in the 1980's, Strait decided to “stop touring for at least a year” after being “on the road” for 35 years. But, before that happened, he made the last stop on the last (at least for now) tour, the AT&T Stadium in Dallas in his home state of Texas.

Culminating his 'The Cowboy Rides Away Tour' at the highly impressive stadium in Arlington, TX, in front of a North American RECORD crowd that totaled an ASTONISHING 104,793 avid fans, the star-studded, guest-packed event was filmed live for this DVD - and God Bless whoever made that choice!

Strait recorded 60 number one hits and, though there wasn’t time for all of there, 40 of them were performed at the concert, which lasted (including the requisite encores) over 2 hours and 45 minutes! All of the concert was recorded and it’s here on this DVD for all to now marvel at in the luxury of their own homes. This aforementioned 40-song set, rich with hits from across his career include: `Unwound,` `The Chair,` `Amarillo By Morning,` `Check Yes Or No,` `Give It Away,` `Troubadour,` `All My Ex`s Live In Texas` (featuring all of the guest stars), and many, SO many more! With all those noted fans in attendance, the show broke the North America indoor concert attendance record.

This is a Widescreen (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and aside from housing a 4-page color booklet of photos and production credits, also comes with the Special Features of a Commentary from George Strait on his record-breaking final show of The Cowboy Rides Away Tour, along with interviews with guest artists.
