'Cook's Country: Season 7'
(2-DVD / NR / 2014 / PBS)

Overview: 'Cook's Country from America's Test Kitchen' features the best regional home cooking in the country and relies on the same practical, no-nonsense food approach that has made Cook's Country magazine so successful.

DVD Verdict: Filmed in a renovated 1806 farmhouse, 'Cook's Country from America's Test Kitchen' is where family-friendly recipes are scientifically reimagined for the modern home cook. In season seven, 'Cook's Country from America's Test Kitchen' uncovers blue-ribbon regional specialties from across the country (Memphis-style Wet Ribs, Oklahoma Fried onion Burgers, and Texas Potato salad) and tackles classic American fare in need of a makeover (Quicker cinnamon Buns, creamy cheese Grits, strawberry Pretzel salad, and more).

'Cook's Country: Season 7,' as usual, discovers the best of American cuisine through extensive kitchen testing. Amongst the delicious dishes on show are Old-Fashioned Sunday Suppers, Dinner from the Prairie, Sweet Endings from the Icebox, Great Grilled Chicken and Texas Potato Salad, and even both Black and White Desserts and Fresh and Spicy Spins to Roast Pork and Tacos.

The 13 episodes from Season 7 are all here, all in full broadcast form, and the actual, wonderful new 2-Disc DVD features 26 printable recipes. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
