'Scorned'
(Annalynne McCord, Billy Zane, Viva Bianca, et al / Blu ray / R / 2014 / Anchor Bay Entertainment)

Overview: If you're going to cheat on your lover, don't get caught. And if you do get caught, you'd better hope your lover isn't secretly insane!

Blu ray Verdict: Directed by the same man who did the infamous low budget, but Jennifer Anniston-revealing 'Leprechaun' movie back in 1993, Mark Jones, I was happy to say I went into this new movie with high hopes. I mean sure, 'Leprechaun' and 'Scorned' are in two different filming and audience viewing leagues, but hey, it's the same guy so let's have some fun.

So, the plot - as basic as it truly is - centers around a romantic weekend that turns horrific; and quickly! And it's all down to when Sadie (AnnaLynne McCord)discovers her boyfriend (Billy Zane) is having an affair with her best friend (Viva Bianca).

Oh boy, doesn't it always, folks?!

Anyway, moving on and as much as this film isn't anything really out of the norm for such a plot, both Zane and McCord do act their little hearts out. Zane is as menacing as ever, and McCord plays her wronged woman role with menace. And as for the completely-not-needed subplot that involves not only a prison but a bizarre (for my money) twist, well, kudos for trying to find a way to extend a movie that could have been wrapped in under 45 mins! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
