'Leverage: The 5th Season'
(Timothy Hutton, Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf, Aldis Hodge, et al / 4-Disc DVD / NR / 2013 / 20th Century Fox)

Overview: Leverage focuses on a team led by former insurance investigator turned thief, Nate Ford (Hutton). Together, they try to level the playing field for people whose lives have been destroyed by the rich and powerful. In the final season of Leverage, the team will be forced to face changing personal dynamics as the relationship between Parker (Riesgraf) and Hardison (Hodge) heats up, and Nate continues to struggle with inner demons.

DVD Verdict: OK, yes, the last two shows of season five rocked and the seris finale was done exceptionally well. With that being said TNT did not renew one of the best shows they had on their station. Not only did they not renew the show, but they teased us with the possibility of two shows.

The "kids" being taught by the "parents" on how to successfully run a con from all angles. We watched them grow from a group of distrustful, socially stumped, loners to a "almost" super-tight family. Y'all know they still have some issues, LOL.

The casting and acting are better than in most big-screen movies. I watch series like this from beginning to end over a few weeks time, so it creates a real connection with the character development. Why three stars? The final episode was a bust. It should've been done in such a way that when they split up, we saw the motivation for their decisions. We should have some specific feel for their life after Leverage.

Instead, the creators got all artsy and creative and baffling on us. What a shame. It would be nice if they could get together to do a movie-length sequel that ends the series in a way this fantastic accomplishment in TV deserves.

Indeed, would have loved to see how long it actually took Nate and Sophie to marry and what the wedding would be like. Hardison and Parker still have things to work out between them. Eliot is still everyone's cavalry and you know they and others still need saving. Leverage - wish I had some with TNT!! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.78:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:

◾Deleted Scenes
◾Episode Commentaries
◾Gag Reel
