'Bait 3D' (Combo Pack)
(Phoebe Tonkin, Julian McMahon, Xavier Samuel, Alex Russell, et al / Blu ray+DVD / NR / 2012 / Anchor Bay Entertainment)

Overview: When a monstrous freak tsunami hits a sleepy beach community, a group of survivors from different walks of life find themselves trapped inside a submerged grocery store. As they try to escape to safety, they soon discover that there is a predator among them more deadly than the threat of drowning--vicious great white sharks lurking in the water, starved for fresh meat.

Blu ray+DVD Verdict: In truth, the opening of 'Bait 3D' is quite beautiful, very tranquil, the calm before (literally) the storm. The water is so blue (last time I saw water that blue was in Greece). So blue I wondered if even that had been CGI'd?

Well, once the monstrous freak tsunami hits - and brings, literally, a tidal wave of sound into your home theater, crashing through the store with no mission other than to destroy and smother everything in sight - it's all hell breaks lose time!

Our now-trapped group of survivors end up finding themselves huddled together in a submerged supermarket. Swimming is the only way out, but there's just one problem - with the deluge of water has come all manner of sea life, including a few very hungry great white sharks!

And much like the crystal blue color of the water beforehand, even red blood floating through the water looks fantastic. Just as important, details are exquisite, right down to the finest skin lines and pores of our human subjects. Such quality details are evident whether under the bright sunshine or low-level light of the flooded store.

'Bait 3D' is a top-notch 1080p 3D transfer and has a high quality Dolby TrueHD 7.1 lossless soundtrack. The 3D image is wonderful, offering everything viewers want out of such a presentation. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Feature of:
