'The Love Boat: Season Two, Vol. 2'
(Gavin Macleod, Ted Lange, Bernie Kopell, Ted Mcginley, et al / 4-Disc DVD / NR / 2009 / Paramount)

Overview: Complete your cruise of The Love Boat's second season with Captain Stubing (Gavin MacLeod), Doc (Bernie Kopell), Gopher (Fred Grandy), Isaac (Ted Lange), Julie (Lauren Tewes) and another boatload of guest stars on The Love Boat - Season Two, Volume Two!

DVD Verdict: I grew up watching the Love Boat and so I bought it but with reservations. I was concerned that it would be a copy and so the quality and resolution of the picture would suffer, but this was not the case! It was superb! It was crisp and clear and so wonderful to watch. My family and I have a wonderful time watching this DVD over and over again. If you're a Love Boat fan like I am, you should get this!

Picking up where 'The Love Boat - Season Two, Volume One' left off, with the show's remaining Season Two episodes which include the return of sexy Charo in "April's Return" (the second of many future appearances), the show is the greatest cheese of all time! I loved this and FANTASY ISLAND as a kid, but back then, I preferred the strange adventures of ISLAND.

Watching these now, the goofy take on male/female relations and the mixture of tears with bad jokes is camp heaven. I love the relationship between the crew and seeing a rotating collection of stars great and small making their weekly visits. All the two hour films have been awful, so skip those and settle in for a consistently silly and wonderful show. It WOULD be nice to see an interview or two with the cast but that hasn't happened thus far.

Sealed with a kitsch, 'The Love Boat' cruised into its second season as one of television's top 20 shows and guiltiest of pleasures. Leaving uncharted waters to edgier shows of the day, 'The Love Boat' was pure escapist entertainment. Please, keep 'em coming! This is a Fullscreen Presentation (1.33:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the following Special Features:
