'Tokko Vol. 3'
(DVD / NR / 2007 / Manga Video)

Overview: The mystery behind ‘The Box of Dirge’ continues as dreams, demons, and swords swirl around Ranmaru and the rest of the Special Mobile Investigation Force. The team uncovers more clues behind the Machida Massacre and travels deep into the underworld to confront phantoms and their pasts. Can Sakura merge with her demon to defeat the forces that aim to destroy the Tokko agents, or will this lead to tragedy? Here are the final episodes of an anime series that combines the spirit world and the near futuristic landscape of a Tokyo plagued by disaster and crime.

DVD Verdict: In this closing volume, the Ranmaru & Tokko group seem to have a slight chance of a brighter future after taking down a head Demon collabrator. But this leads to the arrest of their Chief - with a rescue attempt in order. The group is also faced with the final countdown for along with Ranmaru's sister being kidnapped, his childhood friend / brother has also been changed into a demon!

To make matters worse Ranmaru learns he's been chosen to face an ultimate evil. But that he must kill his fellow TOKKO - for their power! Can he kill his commrades to avenge his family and protect his other friends? In truth, this chapter concludes with no lack of slashing and splattering - as real as animated gore can get, shall we say (weak stomaches turn away!). This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:
