'Men Behaving Badly - Seasons 3 & 4'
(Martin Clunes, Neil Morrissey, Leslie Ash, Caroline Quentin, et al / DVD / NR / (2000) 2006 / BBC Video)

Overview: This comedy series is all about two mates, Gary (Martin Clunes) and Tony (Neil Morrissey) who share a two bedroom home. They are grown men who act like a couple of drunk two-year olds, who spend their time either drinking beer at the local Pub, or at home having all Male conversations on the couch ... while drinking beer!

DVD Verdict: Overall, the set-up remains the same for the characters in 'Men Behaving Badly': Security company manager Gary (Martin Clunes, as amphibious-looking as ever) and his girlfriend Dorothy (Caroline Quentin) wrestle with their torpid relationship while Gary's dim roommate Tony (Neil Morrissey) pants fruitlessly after their blonde upstairs neighbor Deborah (Leslie Ash). But over the course of six episodes, the characters' lives change in small ways (Deborah loses one job, considers selling her flat, then gets a new job; Dorothy wants to break up with Gary, prompting a weekend trip to rejuvenate their relationship) that allow for a gradual richer grasp of who these characters are. Season 3 is unlikely to make new converts, but fans will enjoy returning to the lives of these woeful clods and their hapless female friends. In Season 4, no sooner do the self-absorbed, arrogant yet pathetic Gary and his miserable yet hapless girlfriend Dorothy decide to get married than Dorothy comes to her senses and breaks off the relationship! His roommate Tony, on the other hand, finally lets go of his fruitless crush on their upstairs neighbor Deborah and sets off on a series of affairs with foxy chicks - thus making Gary all the more miserable! But, 'Men Behaving Badly' never shies away from outrageous behavior: Gary accidentally inhales a diaphragm; Gary interrupts a dinner party with Dorothy and her new boyfriend by cutting a stuffed cat in half with a chainsaw; and perpetually unemployed Tony finally gets a job - as a mime. These are all Full Screen presentations and both DVDs come with the Special Features of Four Interactive Quizzes with Special Outtake Rewards.
