'Ugly Betty: The Complete Fourth and Final Season'
(America Ferrera, Eric Mabius, Tony Plana, Mark Indelicato, et al / 4-Disc DVD / NR / 2010 / ABC Studios)

Overview: You’ve come a long way, Betty! See how the heartwarming and hilarious journey ends for Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner America Ferrera in the Fourth And Final Season of ABC’s Ugly Betty. After years of hard work in the world of high fashion, Betty is finally getting her just desserts. Watch as television’s favorite “ugly duckling” blossoms, both professionally and personally, yet never loses the unique spirit that makes her so special, and discover what is to become of all your favorite faces at MODE.

DVD: There were many cold, dark nights alone back a few years ago. And so, to make myself feel better I switched on the TV and hoped something would comfort me ... and there she was, Ugly Betty in all her glory.

America Ferrara was just a wisp of a thing, which makes it all the more remarkable that this whimsical drama fit so neatly on her shoulders. Unspectacular in every other way, this adaptation of a popular Spanish telenovela -- liberally adorned with swatches of "The Devil Wears Prada" -- rose above the norm almost entirely on Ferrara's winsome, winning portrayal of an duckling treading water amid fashion snobs.

But, it wasn't too long before I found myself reading online that the brilliant, award-winning show was cancelled by ABC. Once again, ABC cancelled a great show. At least we got four seasons out of this one. But before I continue I just have to put this out there, SPOILER ALERT! In season 4 we open up with Betty getting her braces removed, but of course it was just a dream. We see her getting her new job has a junior-editor.

We see her getting back together with Matt (with whom she broke up with in the season 3 finale). And as we go on further into the season seeing her house burn down. We see a lot more, of course, but the real series-ending finale (if you've not seen it) entitled "Hello Goodbye," well, for as much as it did indeed wrap up each of our beloved characters lives in a nice pretty bow, there were things that didn't happen that I think we can all agree we wished had! But, stay tuned for the last (literally) 40 seconds of the show ...!

OK, that's enough of a reveal for now. I shall leave the rest untouched here! Yes, you're welcome. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.78:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:

Deleted Scenes
Mode After Hours - Featuring the following Marc and Amanda "Mode After Hours" segments: Stress-Orcism (3:35), Role-Playing (3:26), Queenseeker (5:16) and Harassment of a Sexual Nature (3:39)
Betty Goes Bahamas - (8:30) Behind-the-scenes of what the cast did during their stay in the Bahamas. Becki Newton and Michael Urie try to go around the Bahamas to see what the cast is up to
Betty Bloops - (6:32) "Ugly Betty" Season Four outtakes
Audio Commentary - Featuring audio commentary for "All the World's a Stage" (episode 81) with commentary by Michael Urie and Mark Indelicato
