'Rabies: Unrated'
(Ania Bukstein, Lior Ashkenazi, Danny Geva, et al / DVD / R / 2012 / IMAGE Entertainment)

Overview: A psychotic serial killer on the loose in the woods crosses paths with a group of unsuspecting teenagers. Soon people are dying one by one but is the bad guy who you think?

DVD Verdict: I was asked to review this movie for a magazine, being that I am a HUGE horror/slasher fan - read into that what you will, I guess! Anyhoo, this hilarious film (the first Israeli slasher film to come to us) is just the kind that you look for at small indie film festivals.

It starts off like your typical slasher film and than it goes against all genre conventions: The killer on the loose; The heroic Virgin; The Last survivor. Everything is upside down in this horror comedy. It reminded me of the originality of the first 'Scream'! Great actors (also good looking), beautiful cinematography (a slasher film shot entirely in daylight!), and one really bad-ass soundtrack.

I hope you will love this slasher flick as much as I and my friends did, as who you think the killer is WON'T be the killer come the end! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.77:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
