(Queensryche / Blu ray / NR / 2011 / Eagle Eye Media)
Overview: Boasting epic staging to match their expansive sound, this 2006 show from Queensryche shows the band still knows how to rock. In this concert from Seattle`s Moore Theater, the quintet plays every song from the concept albums OPERATION: MINDCRIME.
Blu ray Verdict: OK, just to get this straight, as it is a little cnfusing, four (4) years after its release on CD and DVD, Queensr˙che’s 'Mindcrime at the Moore' has finally seen the light of day on Blu-ray! Eagle Rock (Entertainment) has kindly released it under license from Rhino Records who released the CD and DVD versions in 2007!
OK, so are we now all caught up to date? Good, so let's proceed ... 'Mindcrime at the Moore' captures Queensr˙che returning home to Seattle and painstakingly putting together a show that featured both Mindcrime albums performed in their entirety. The band pulled out all the stops for the homecoming at the Moore Theater.
The production is full of special effects, screens, actors, drama, and of course loud sophisticated rock ‘n’ roll telling the story. Mindcrime at the Moore captures every single minute in high-definition like it should have been in the first place.
Queensr˙che fans who already own this concert in DVD will DEFINITELY love the Blu-ray upgrade. The fantastic, crystal clear audio and flawless picture of this once in a lifetime performance is all captured for years of enjoyment. The extras are identical to the DVD package and include the Rock & Ride Across America segment from VH-1 Classic, a tour documentary, and a performance of “The Chase” with Ronnie James Dio from the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles. [RM] This is a Full Screen Presentation (1.66:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs, and has been remastered into a crisp Blu ray production.
