'Flicka - Country Pride'
(Clint Black, Kacey Rohl, Lisa Hartman-Black, Max Lloyd-Jones, Siobhan Williams, Laura Soltis, Alexander Calvert, et al / DVD / NR / 2012 / 20th Century Fox)

Overview: When Toby (Clint Black) takes on a job at a stable with Flicka in tow, the owner's teenage daughter Kelly (Kacey Rohl), quickly bonds with the wild horse. A budding equestrian rider, she hopes to break Flicka for an upcoming competition, despite her mother's (Lisa Hartman Black) disapproval.

DVD Verdict: 'Flicka - Country Pride' is truly a great, fun family movie from start to finish. There is not an element within it that is not the making of a good family film to be shared by all within your family - especially those that love horses, of course!

The storyline is inspired, given that this is the third of the series, and don't be worried about any left of center content - for the entire family will love the on-screen chemistry on show here in 'Country Pride.'

In the film, a young girl named Kelly (Kacey Rohl) bonds with the Mustang named Flicka, primarily a little bit more though when Toby (Clint Black) comes to Cherry Creek to take care of the horses at their stable. The glorious, cinematic setting of Larkspur, Wyoming is beautiful, stunning in those dusk shots, and a sight to behold.

Anyway, Kelly and her mother Lindy (Lisa Hartman Black, Clint's real life wie, of course) are still recovering from the death of Kelly's father and Lindy's husband. To add to the complications a young rider named Stephanie is at odds with Kelly even though they used to be best friends. Add to that the fact that Stephanie likes a boy named Briggs and so does Kelly, well, with both trying to get him to notice them that adds some more spice to the film.

And so it evolves that each character fights his/her own battle but grows a little along the way, as you'd hope/expect. And, ultimately Kelly has a chance to ride again in a contest - something she hasn't done since her father died. This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs and comes with the Special Features of:
