'The Eleventh Hour: The Complete Series'
(Rufus Seewell, Marley Shelton, et al / 6-Disc DVD / NR / 2009 / Warner Bros.)

Overview: Legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer is back again in the nick of time with Eleventh Hour. This Complete 6-Disc, 18-Episode Series stars Rufus Sewell as a brilliant biophysicist and special science advisor to the government investigating scientific crises and oddities everything from cloning to cryogenics.

DVD Verdict: Taken from a British series (starring the always brilliant Patrick Stewart), this rather compelling (and way too soon-cancelled) series followed a brilliant biophysicist who travels around the country to medical crime scenes - where only he can unravel these medical and usually VERY scientific mysteries.

Attached to the hip of the HUGELY sexy FBI handler, Rachel Young (Marley Shelton), they trail each other from site to site, never getting romanticaly involved with each other, never even getting close (which is greatly refreshing!).

However, the true crime committed here was that this science-based drama television series, which originally ran on CBS from October 9th, 2008 to April 2nd, 2009 was cut short just one season in ... and no cliffhanger was ever filmed for the end-of-first-season episode, nor was a suitable ending either!

Anyway, moving past that, Hood is the government's last line of defense, and it is his mission to keep scientific advances out of the hands of those with nefarious intentions. Halfway through the series both Dr. Hood and Special Agent Young are assisted by Special Agent Felix Lee (Omar Benson Miller), whose comic timing was well warranted in the role of sidekick #2 to the main sidekick!

Funnily enough, upon learning of Eleventh Hour's cancellation, a small core group of fans banded together to form the Eleventh Hour Resurrection Campaign. They were involved in an unsuccessful orchestrated effort to have the series picked up by another television network ... it failed! This is a Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs, but MYSTERIOUSLY does not come with any Special Features!
