'Michael Bolton: Live at the Royal Albert Hall'
(Michael Bolton, et al / Blu ray / NR / 2010 / Eagle Vision)

Overview: This musical release from adult contemporary artist Michael Bolton captures a live performance, recorded at London's Royal Prince Albert Hall. Some of the tracks featured in the concert include "Time, Love and Tenderness", "Can I Touch You There", "How Can We Be Lovers", and more.

Blu ray Verdict: This is by far Michael Bolton's best DVD/blu ray concert to date. Eagle Vision has (finally) gotten the closest to capturing the actual concert experience. With the HD picture and sound quality that was recorded in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound it will really connect with your home theatre system.

These are some of the clearest vocal performances he's ever laid down and the venue is georgeous. Show stoppers include new song One Love, When a man loves a Woman, Hope It's too late, Nessun Dorma, Thats Life and and incredible vulnerable and powerfully depicted cover of Van morrision's Crazy Love - in my opinion this is the definitive version now!

Bolton performs in front of a backdrop of shifting images and starts out a little more formal, topping nice blue jeans with a brown shirt and jacket and ending more relaxed in a grey T-shirt and light jeans with rips on the knees.

For the record, the show was recorded with multiple strategically positioned cameras that follow Bolton and his band from a variety of different angles. Sometimes the swap outs can be annoying, but for the most part they bolster the final product. You will not be dissapointed with over two hours of content and in depth interview and, of course, Michael Bolton at his best! [RV] This is a Full Screen Presentation (1.33:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs.
