Title - 'Memories Of A Beautiful Disaster' (Wind-Up)
Artist - James Durbin

American Idol finalist James Durbin, who hit the road earlier this Spring on his first-ever national tour in support of his Wind-Up Records debut album Memories Of A Beautiful Disaster, has just announced new Summer dates to run through August with bothBuckcherry and Drowning Pool.

His debut hard rock album kicks-off with the vibrant pounding of 'Higher Than Heaven,' which instantly showcases his high range of scream; that we all saw and loved on American Idol. That is followed by the generic 'All I Want,' which then gives way to the much better 'Love In Ruins.' A tale of the turnabouts within love, Durbin's wail is there, loud and proud, just (thankfully) hovering below the Axel Rose territories!

The slower 'Right Behind You' grows and becomes aanother great rock song, but is another (albeit it well-crafted) filler here on his debut album. The melodic 'Love Me Bad' contains so many lyrical rock cliches it's hard to get over the fact it wasn't written by Nickelback - or, was it?!

The euphoric 'Deeper' is next, with the true ballad of the album 'May' allowing Durbin to dig deep into how to control his high notes. A highly commendable effort for a track about a father and his ever-growing daughter, his tempered vocals allow for a beautiful song to come forth. Next is the filler 'Screaming,' which doesn't feature Durbin's trademark scream as much as you'd hope for, with the balls-out 'Outcast' (featuring Motley Crue's Mick Mars) along for the ride next.

This powerful debut album comes to a finale with the rocker 'Everything Burns,' before the best song on the CD (so why did they leave it as the 11th track?), 'Stand Up.' Chock full of everything that makes rock n' roll pump as hard, and as fast as it does, the track is easily a rock hit single contender for 2012.
