Title - 'Remember Two Things' (RCA/Legacy)
Artist - The Dave Matthews Band

If you are not sure as to the history of this wondrous and recently-released (once again) DMB album, Remember Two Things is an album by The Dave Matthews Band initially released independently on the band's Bama Rags label way back on November 9th, 1993.

Indeed, this was the only release where the band was referred to as "The Dave Matthews Band." It was reissued by RCA Records on June 24th, 1997 and was certified platinum by the RIAA in 2002.

And so here to present day and it has gotten yet another re-release, but this time a VERY special one by Legacy Recordings. Available for the first time on vinyl, this limited edition deluxe audiophile release of Remember Two Things marks the band’s first ever official release. It features the original album across two 180 gram LPs, with lacquers cut by Chris Bellman of Bernie Grundman Mastering.

The gatefold jacket is foil numbered and includes a new eight-page booklet with full lyrics and rare and previously unpublished photos of the band. The download card includes the full album plus two previously unreleased bonus tracks: early studio versions of 'Pay For What You Get' and 'Typical Situation,' newly mastered by original album engineer David Glasser.

As for the album itself, well, it's a classic; simply put! Importantly, you should keep in mind that this record dropped before Dave and company hit it big and started playing the amphitheater in your hometown every summer!

The first six songs are full-band live recordings. 'Minarets' and 'Seek Up' are full-band studio recordings, and 'I'll Back You Up and 'Christmas Song' are Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds live acoustic recordings. Dave has been cited as saying that 'I'll Back You Up' was recorded in a closet near a bathroom, and the version on the album is the one "with no flushing sounds in it."

'Ants Marching' and 'Tripping Billies' were recorded at The Muse in Nantucket, Massachusetts, on August 17th, 1993. 'Recently' was recorded at The Flood Zone in Richmond, Virginia on August 10th, 1993.

'Ants Marching' and 'Satellite' later appeared on the 1994 album Under the Table and Dreaming, while 'Tripping Billies' appeared on its 1996 follow-up, Crash.

Oh, and if you didn't know, the album cover art is an autostereogram which, when focused on correctly, shows a person's hand displaying a peace sign. It was created by two former UVA students in Charlottesville: Rick Kwiatkowski and Jeff Smith.
