The recording of six original compositions and covers of Strange Brew and Bebop surrounds the Hammond B3 with an exceptional group of musicians: Oz Noy, Mike Clark, Lenny White and Chad LB.
Jerry Z is a Hammond B3 organist and composer known for soulful grooves, fiery improvisation, and an approach that draws freely from jazz, blues, and funk. Based between New York and Austin, he has long been a presence on the New York jazz scene, bringing the distinctive sound and expressive possibilities of the Hammond B3 to a wide range of musical settings.

Best known for his work with The Headhunters and guitarist Oz Noy, Jerry opens on the flourishingly active, upbeat, joyful and simply dazzling title cut Break Allegro and then brings us the wholly engaging beauty of Rego Park, a resoundingly funky run at Strange Brew, and a magnificently emotive Zoya, before gifting us his rhythmically mellow, yet spark enriched Road Dog, a soulfully luxuriant Angelie, the new set rounding out on a resoundingly gripping Bebop, coming to an all-too-soon close on the melodiously impassioned In the Garden.
