For those unaware, Tributaries<.u> is the debut release from the New England Jazz Collaborative, featuring six vibrant new works for jazz orchestra by Sam Spear, Darryl Harper, Jeremy Cohen and Matan Rubinstein.

Since its founding in 2021, NEJC has directly supported the creation of more than 30 new works through concerts, recordings and commissioning projects.

NEJC’s programs have been featured in The Boston Globe, Boston Magazine and on WBUR’s Morning Edition, and have received support from the National Park Service, Eastern Bank, Cambridge Community Foundation and Mass Cultural Council.

Featuring six new works for jazz orchestra by four composers, the full album comes out July 17th, 2026 on all streaming platforms, with CDs and also vinyl available.

The Cambridge-based, artist-run nonprofit - producing concerts, recordings and projects rooted in jazz - opens this breathtaking new recording on the spirited fare of the joyful Another Brighter Day and the diligently sculpted Ol’ Liminal and they are in turn backed by the sweeping grandeur of Kiss Me Again, the free-flowingly triumphant musical majesties of The Secret, the set rounding out on the sheer elegance of the decadent Gee, Em..., coming to a close on the affecting hipsway of Green Turtle Strut.
