Title - [AUG 14] Say Yes
Artist - Nicole Yvette
For those not in the know, Nicole Yvette is a songwriter and storyteller who writes from her own life and invites you into it. On Say Yes (out via Bright Fame, LLC.), artists like Kurt Elling, Joel Ross, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Keyon Harrold heard something in these songs and said yes. She is hoping you will too.
Her debut album is a spirit-filled jazz record produced by three-time GRAMMY® winner Sara Gazarek. The album features songs with Kurt Elling, Joel Ross, Keyon Harrold, J. Ivy, Terri Lyne Carrington, Larry Goldings, Paul Cornish, and Lenard Simpson.
In short, Nicole brings her luminous voice and deeply personal songwriting to the fore on this truly unforgettable collection of timelessly endearing music.

A Seattle fixture for over a decade, Nicole opens her new recording on the harmonious Crossing Over and the soulful Such is The Love (featuring jazz singer and songwriter Kurt Elling) and then we are gifted the gentle finger-snapping delights of Say Yes (featuring jazz vibraphonist Joel Ross), the silky smooth Come Close (featuring 3× GRAMMY® Award–winning poet J. Ivy and jazz trumpeter and vocalist Keyon Harrold), before both the ornate If I Could and the decadent Night and Day are upon us.
Along next is the pleasurably jaunty Inuka Uangaze (featuring jazz drummer Terri Lyne Carrington) and the sultry rhythmic gem Saturday (featuring saxophonist and composer Lenard Simpson), and they are in turn backed seamlessly by the all-embracing Let It Be (not the Beatles’), a dutifully sculpted rendition of What A Wonderful World, the set rounding out on the sumptuous We Rise At Dawn, coming to a close on another rendition of the ambient mood setter If I Could (this time featuring rising star on the modern jazz scene Paul Cornish).
