For those unaware, and for their debut, Germany’s LYNX have received due acclaim for their modern recasting of ’70s hard rock in the orbit of Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple, and Blue Öyster Cult.

Recorded live, Trinity of Suns is the now sound of LYNX. The band focuses on their strengths - long tracks, more varied songwriting and nuanced arrangements - rendering Trinity of Suns a kaleidoscopic song cycle steeped in the ’70s.

Of especial note was the addition of Amy Zine in 2022 as vocalist and synth player, expanding LYNX to a quintet. In 2025, original vocalist and guitarist Marvin Kiefer left the band, and one Janni (Eyemaster, ex-Speedbreaker) joined as vocalist and guitarist. In November of that year, the band entered Fat & Holy Studio to record their second full-length.

On their sophomore album that contains varied and nuanced songs which hail the golden era of (prog) rock and (proto) heavy metal from the 70s, the album opens on the atmospheric gossamer of Voyager and the rhythmically melodic rocker Oppressive Season and then we are gifted the harmoniously gilded title track Trinity of Suns, the acoustic, for the most part, amped in places for definition Parhelia (Interlude), the euphoric Stranger Sign In The Sky, the set rounding out on the quietly ambient Seven Days Of Darkness, closing on the AOR-imbibed rocker Island Universe.
