Title - Lines of Now
Artist - Claudio Scolari Project
For those not in the know, Lines of Now by the Claudio Scolari Project continues the band’s modern jazz approach while exploring a more contemporary sonic palette. The title reflects the essence of the project: music created in the here and now, with a strong sense of improvisational urgency.
Compared to previous releases, the sound design is more prominent: the dual drum setup is more heavily processed, resulting in a less acoustic and more modern texture.
The music is built through collective improvisation, with compositions emerging in real time from initial ideas. In some tracks, loop-based sequences provide a starting point for spontaneous interaction.

Features Scolari himself on drums and synth programming, they open this simply magnificent new recording on the sonically resplendent Subtle Currents and then we get the decadently smooth Fractured Horizon, the pacy Between Seconds, the organically atmospheric Moving Echoes, before the regal grandeur of Still Moving is brought forth.
Along next is the playfully flirtatious The Next Breath which is in turn backed by the sumptuously sculpted First Light, the charming Holding Still, the veritably ethereal in stature A Sudden Silence, the set rounding out on the drum-tastic Where We Pause, coming to a close on the jarringly ambient, stoically memorable, Ilaria Cavalca sung track Edge of Silence.

Claudio Scolari: drum set 1, synth programming
Daniele Cavalca: drum set 2, live synths, rhodes, piano
Simone Scolari: trumpet
Ilaria Cavalca: piano, voice
