Title - Worth It (EP)
Artist - Kim McClay
For those unaware, you may have already heard the indie-pop-rock artist Kim McKay’s latest singles, Velveteen Girls and So Close, two perfect examples of some of the themes of empowerment found across the record, and if you have done, and if you enjoyed them (I mean, why wouldn’t you have) then you’ll be glad to know that her brand new EP Worth It is due out on June 26th, 2026.
Throughout Worth It, Kim channels her feminine rage, broken heart, and desperate message of hope into an exploration of the dynamics of today’s human connection - or lack thereof.
“I wanted to pose questions about value,” she says. “What are we worth to each other? What do we owe our neighbors? Our family? Our friends? I wanted to touch on the importance of vulnerability - how valuable it is to turn into what’s uncomfortable and face it head-on.”
Kim will be celebrating the release at NYC’s Mercury Lounge on June 22nd, 2026 and also celebrating her birthday, which falls right between the two occasions!
1. Velveteen Girls
2. Firefly
3. Worth It
4. So Close
5. Something Like Love
The New York City based theatre artist, musician, songwriter, and proud member of Actor’s Equity, Kim opens her new recording on the feisty rocker Velveteen Girls and then brings us the low key pop-rock of Firefly, the alt-pop of the title cut Worth It, the EP rounding out on an aching yearn that threads through So Close, coming to a close on the alt-indie imbibed Something Like Love.
