For those unaware, this brand new album is a global jazz dialogue that unites voices from seven cultures. From Norwegian fjords to Arabic rhythms; Polish lyricism to the traditions of American jazz this album brings together talented musicians from different backgrounds who aren’t afraid to let improvised musical dialogue lead their work and break conventions.

Recorded over three days in Poland, at 432 Hz, Dorota Piotrowska and her ensemble prove that powerful musical experiences are a reflection of the technical mastery and cultural richness of those involved.

Blending improvisation with diverse musical traditions, they open their new recording on the softly subtle Cambria and the gently spirited Upon and then we get gifted the stridently emotive Saba H2O, the veritably shimmering Lost & Found and the rhythmically ambient Psychomachia.

Up next is the breathy brilliance of Cyrille in Motian which is in turn backed by the gripping foreign language-sung Lothlorien, then comes the upright bass-hued Spark, the set rounding out on the atmospheric Circle I, coming to an all too soon close on the ethereal magnificence of Circle.

The album cover for Voices of Human Consciousness features artwork by Wojciech Siudmak, one of Poland’s most internationally acclaimed contemporary painters and a leading figure of fantastic realism. Special vinyl edition featuring exclusive bonus tracks not available on the standard release, featuring pianist Leszek Możdżer.
