Title - The Rock Is Still Rollin’
Artist - Zan Zone
For those unaware, New York City has long been a place to inspire artists. Countless thousands have tried to claw their way up a slippery slope trying to get some kind of recognition in a city that sets the highest standards for artists yet also puts up roadblocks at every turn.
Since the 1990s, under the somewhat international sounding moniker, Zan Zone, songwriter and guitarist Zan Burnham has been putting together various musical endeavors in that city, and has now released five albums and two EP’s, with a sixth album due out soon. Recognition has been scant, yet - still positive and growing. As many have observed, overnight success usually takes years - or decades.
Back in 1995, Zan Zone released its first CD, Zan Zone to critical acclaim. The Musician’s Exchange called the eponymous album, Way cool ... truly an original CD ... the playing is first rate and so are the grooves and songs .... It’s wonderful and a definite keeper. Time And A Word said, An impressive debut disc. The Music Paper noted its variety and excellent production.
The band found that a few years after the album was released, incipient marriages and forthcoming babies caused the band to splinter and re-group a few times. While a three-song EP was released in 1997, the pressures of everyone’s family lives finally put a halt to that version of the group in 1998.
Regrouping, in 2013, ZAN ZONE released the double-album length project, Shorts. The 73 minute project utilized 19 musicians and singers, recording 13 songs over a three year period. Critics responded, calling it: Inventive, funny, infectious, intelligent, catchy ...
In 2018, ZAN ZONE released IT’S ONLY NATURAL, a true rock ’n’ roll record in the tradition of many of many great, classic rock bands. Once again, critics and fans loved the album. Critics said things like Soaring, Electrifying, Uplifting, Heartfelt, and even Infectious, etc.
STAR WHERE YOU STAND was released on June 18th, 2022 and has gone on to receive wonderful comments from a variety of reviewers, most of whom are from the Prog-Rock world, but Zan Zone also has a pop element as well, which increases their appeal.
And now, on March 21st, 2026, THE ROCK IS STILL ROLLIN’ will be officially released and it is a blockbuster! It’s essentially a tribute to the first three decades of Rock n’ Roll, and it has some truly excellent songs and performances based on the styles and approaches of those first three decades of Rock n’ Roll.

This brilliantly affecting musical adventure kicks off with the triumphant instrumental rocker Born To Roll and the countrified rock of Have Some Fun Tonight and then we are given the languishing mid-tempo 70’s-hued cut Dog Days, the emotively-driven Double Life, the drum-led Hard To Get, before the laid back hipsway of Mama Was A Train Wreck is brought forth.
Along next is the pop-rocker fluidity of Ready To Say Goodbye and the folk-psych swirls and twirls of Friends and they are in turn backed seamlessly by the lushly sculpted balladry of She Left Me (The Love I Had), the effortlessly flourishing, harmonica-imbibed That Flame, the set rounding out on the elegant dancefloor, instrumental ambiance of Happy Go Lucky, closing on the countrified indie rocker Rockin’ n’ Rollin’ On Down The Road.
