Title - Komara II
Artist - Komara

The genre-defying trio KOMARA returns with KOMARA II, a powerful new release that pushes sound boundaries and challenges musical convention.

Featuring King Crimson drummer Pat Mastelotto, avant-garde guitarist David Kollar, and visionary trumpeter Paolo Raineri, the album blends ambient textures, industrial grit, and jazz-infused improvisation into a haunting, cinematic experience.

Special guests include Arve Henriksen, Deborah Carter Mastelotto and sound designer Bill Munyon, adding further depth to the album’s rich, experimental palette.

As with their first album, this release is visually anchored by a striking cover design from Tool guitarist and visual artist Adam Jones.

1. Gerund
2. Allina Day
3. Not Our Way
4. Relocating Children
5. Gray Apples Fall
6. Judgement Day
7. Utorok Cowboy
8. Swallowing Tokyo
9. Burning Man
10. Komarantino
11. Squirm
12. The Returning (reprise)

This brilliantly executed, and strikingly sculpted new recording opens on the infectiously melodic Gerund and the jaggedly rhythmic Allina Day and then we get the atmospheric Not Our Way, the industrially crafted Relocating Children, and then come both the harmonically impassioned Gray Apples Fall and the emboldened Judgement Day.

Along next is the playfully theatric Utorok Cowboy and the melodic interlude Swallowing Tokyo, and they are both in turn followed neatly by the pulsative Burning Man, the effectively looped electro and grafting guitar work that becomes the interlude Komarantino, the set rounding out on the bluesy rock feel of Squirm, closing on the ambient soundscapes that form The Returning (reprise).

The band will perform several shows this summer in Europe with Pat’s former King Crimson bandmate Trey Gunn joining the band.

Musicians:
David Kollar - Guitars, Bass, Key
Pat Mastelotto - Traps and Buttons
Paolo Raineri - Trumpet & Flugelhorn
