For those unaware, Dario Larina is best known most recently with working beside legendary guitarist Zakk Wylde in Black Label Society. Beyond logging thousands of miles on the road in the band, Dario shredded alongside Zakk Wylde on 2021’s Doom Crew Inc. and accompanied the Black Label Society mastermind and six-string legend on the cover of Guitar World.

As part of the latter, Wylde succinctly summed up his reason for bringing the rising guitar slinger aboard, Because Dario’s awesome! Along the way, he also unleashed two solo albums, namely Dario Lorina and Death Grip Tribulations.

Throughout 2024, he carefully assembled what would become Spirit in the Glass, rounding out the lineup with Brody DeRozie, Mike Gunn, and Luis Silva and writing and recording out of his Las Vegas home studio a.k.a. Dark Chapel.

This phenomenally impassioned, rugged, raw and yet at all times melodically propellant new recording opens on the electrically-charged crunch of Afterglow and the Soundgarden-esque Hollow Smile and then we get the heavy metal of We Are Remade, the Alice in Chains meets Ozzy cut Corpse Flower and the low slung, driving balladry of Glass Heart.

Along next is the unexpected acoustic piano ballad Dead Weight which is itself seamlessly backed by the languishing guitar ballad Dark Waters, the slinky Southern-grooved All That Remains, the album rounding out on the rhythmic metal sounds of Gravestoned Humanity, closing on the mid-tempo, tonal reverb-hued brilliance of Bullet in Our Chamber.
