Title - Getting Warmer
Artist - Matt Tecu & Fernando Perdomo
In the heart of LA’s music scene, guitar wizard Fernando Perdomo and rhythmic mastermind Matt Tecu joined forces, creating a prog-rock powerhouse that would make even the ’70s legends take notice. United by a Netflix documentary and a shared passion for boundary-pushing instrumentals, this dynamic duo is on a mission to redefine rock.
Their 2024 debut album Art, released on Think Like A Key Music, isn’t just a collection of tracks - it’s a sonic manifesto. Each note is a brushstroke in a larger masterpiece, blending nostalgia with innovation.
But hold onto your headphones, because they’re just warming up! Imagine Barry White running a studio with Serge Gainsbourg twisting the dials—that’s Getting Warmer, this steamy sophomore follow-up to 2024’s Art.
Recorded in two sultry days, these ten tracks ooze seduction—from the slinky Low Hanging Fruit to the fizzy tarte à la crème (with Cheyenne Crowe’s velvet vocals).
Foo Fighter Rami Jaffee’s keys ignite Sweat Weather, while Club Lingerie struts into after-hours industrial bliss. Sophisticated yet raw, it’s Steely Dan scoring a late-night jazz flick — your turntable or CD player might need a cold shower.

This intimate audio affair edition opens on the stridently set Low Hanging Fruit and the veritably shimmering beauty of Between The Sheets and they are then followed by the drum-led rock of Club Lingerie, the atmospheric drum and synth work that drives the funky Koko Sal, before we are brought forth the floating synth work of The Destiny Inn.
Along next is the luxuriant Foreign Correspondent and the fervently sculpted, joyous and alive sounds of Deflowers and they are then in turn backed by the French-sung, decadently layered tarte à la crème, the album rounding out on the playfully flirtatious Sweat Weather, coming to an all too close on the simply divine melodies that pulse within the titular Getting Warmer.
If Art was the spark, Getting Warmer promises to be the inferno, pushing further into uncharted musical territories. Expect the unexpected as Perdomo + Tecu (or Tecu + Perdomo) continue their journey through soundscapes you’ve only dreamed of. Strap in, music lovers – it’s only getting warmer from here!
